Assembled 50 ohm RF Coax Cable

It is now unthinkable not to have a television in our living rooms and bedrooms. In many cases, the reception of TV channels is solved with a satellite dish. It is then essential not to use a coaxial cable. This type of cable is not only popular because of its special design, but also because of its high signal strength, which is particularly essential for cable TV systems, when using subwoofers and in home cinema systems. Whether these cables are used as antenna cables and for transmitting audio or video signals. The 75 ohm version is used for transmitting video signals, while the 50 ohm cables are more suitable for transmitting communication signals. This is where the pre-fitted 50 ohm RF coax cables come in handy, as we no longer have to worry about fitting the right connector at each end of the cable. Especially if you are not well versed in the world of cable installation.

What is a coaxial cable?

The term coaxial cable generally applies to any wire that has two poles and is concentrically positioned, that is, it has a consistent center. In the case of a coaxial cable, the conductor is symmetrically surrounded by the core, which consists of the inner conductor. This is the most important part of the cable, which is why the inner conductor is also preferably called the core.

It is usually made of copper wire, which is considered a particularly good conductor. Inexpensive coaxial cables, on the other hand, often have a metal centre conductor, which also gives acceptable signal transmission results.Above the inner conductor is the insulator or dielectric, which protects the core from external signals. For low-cost cables, this is made of non-conductive plastic. Finally, the coaxial cable is usually covered with a plastic coating, which should be corrosion-resistant and extremely robust.

What kind of pre-mounted 50 ohm RF coax cable can you find in the DND Telecom webshop?

Our coaxial cables are assembled with, for example, FME plug and BNC socket, FME plug and SMA socket or SMA plug and SMA socket. In this case we use RG-58 coaxial cable. Why use RG-58 antenna cable?

This cable is the most widely used cable in radio and reception technology, i.e. amateur radios, CB radios and wireless transmission systems, as well as in the world of antennas. Because it is a flexible and cost-effective wire. It is also single shielded, has an impedance of 50 ohms and an outer diameter of 5 mm.
