Cash Register GSM Antenna

Businesses are obliged to document cash register data. This obligation to record is made simple and automatic by professional cash register systems. In this way, documents of financial transactions can be stored and checked at any time. But the data must not only be recorded, they must also be automatically transmitted to the NAV system. This can only be done if there is a permanent link between the two endpoints. Read more...

But what if you are running your business in a location without internet or adequate coverage? Because the cash register used at the point of sale must meet certain minimum technical requirements, i.e. we will need a suitable GSM antenna to ensure that our cash register is always connected to the tax authority's server.

What does GSM stand for?

This is an abbreviation for Global System for Mobile Communications, which in English means Global System for Mobile Communications. It's a communication channel that connects your device, in this case your cash register, to the network to send data.

Why is it important to choose the right GSM antenna?

Since antennas are an important part of wireless technology, their use is essential for cash registers. Especially for premises with no or very weak reception. In this case, GSM antennas are used to transmit and receive radio signals.

These antennas do this function on the different mobile communication bands, i.e. they cover a specific radio frequency range. The frequency bands of the GSM magnetic base antennas available in the DND Telecom webshop are 824-960Mhz and 1710-1990Mhz. But you can also choose between the GSM antennas with the following frequency bands: 450Mhz, 860-960Mhz and 1800Mhz. This allows our cash register to continuously send data to the tax authorities, so we can comply with our legal obligations.

The data can be transmitted from the cash register to the tax authorities in the following ways

What are the features of GSM antennas for cash registers?

GSM GSM antennas are an essential component of mobile communications and are used in many applications to receive and transmit radio signals. As mentioned above, we can choose between retractable and magnetic versions. Magnetic cash register GSM antennas have a 5 m long RG-58 cable. The retractable versions have 4.2 meters of RG-58 cable. This length is certainly long enough to place the antenna in a place where there is definitely a network.

Both antennas have a gain of 0 - 5 dBi and an RF output impedance of 50 Ohm. If you choose the retractable model, you should expect the antenna hole diameter to be 13mm. In both cases, the antenna can be connected to the cash register with a BNC plug. Therefore, it is supplied with this connector. But we can also mount it with a different connector for an extra charge! In this case our staff will be happy to help you.

Where to place the GSM antenna of the cash register?

Preferably next to a window or on top of a cupboard, close to a door, where reception is good. Why? Because unfortunately there are still areas in our country where it often happens that the signal is weak in the case of GSM communication in the building. But this is also due to the fact that signals are strongly attenuated by walls, reinforced concrete beams or ceilings. Most of these types of problems can occur in petrol stations, markets, businesses near airports, or in accommodation in less busy locations.
