Icom wireless communication devices are all made in Japan
Icom Inc. is one of the companies for which quality has been more important than cost reduction. The company did not move production to countries that would produce its amateur, commercial, marine and aviation radios at lower cost. The brand felt it was essential that its products continued to be labelled "Made in Japan". It therefore kept 100 percent of its manufacturing base in Japan. But production was not only kept in the mainland, it was also significantly improved.
Icom's Arida plant has had an advanced manufacturing system for many years. For example, since 2019, industrial robots have been assembling the communication devices manufactured by the brand. But the company is also involved in a number of collaborations. As early as 2007, it signed a partnership agreement with KDDI, and a few years later the company's management decided to work closely with Ageet and NTT West Japan. At our service centre, we also carry out warranty and out-of-warranty repairs on branded communication devices, all using genuine factory Icom parts of course.
