SMB Connector (50 Ohm)
Connectors are essential components in many industries and are found in many electronic devices. They are primarily used to connect cables. One type of these devices is the SMB connector, of which there are both sockets and plugs. The first has a central pin, while the socket has a so-called basket. This is why the first is colloquially called the father and the second the mother. Read more...

Which 50 ohm SMB connector to choose?
SMB connectors can be mostly fixed to the end of the wires using crimping pliers. The contact coating of the connector is gold-plated, which helps to improve signal transmission. The rated voltage is 335 V. Another important feature to look out for is the attenuation factor, which is 0.3 dB for these plugs.
Cables that can be fitted to this type of socket are B7805A, KX3, KX22, M17-113, M17-119, RG174, RG188(A) and RG316. As mentioned above, these connectors are not threaded, but snap smoothly into place.
What is the difference between SMA and SMB connectors?
Firstly, their size. But the main difference lies in the impedance. SMB connectors are available in both 50 ohm and 75 ohm versions, while SMA connectors are only available in 50 ohm versions. So when choosing between these, consider the impedance required for the application.
