Traffic Cone

We use safety cones when there is a hazard on the road, at construction sites or on company premises. In addition, this type of buoy can also help companies to ensure that safety regulations are followed in accordance with the rules, reducing the possibility of accidents and injuries. Read more...

Remember, if road diversion buoys are used in areas that are not covered by the Highway Code, they do not have to comply with any legal requirements.

What types of diversion cones are known?

There are basically three different types of diversion cones. The first category includes fully reflective models. These traffic diversion buoys reflect not only the white stripes but also the red surfaces between them. Compared to fully reflective diversion cones, partially reflective models reflect only the white stripes.

A third type is the light-emitting marker buoy. These versions are mainly used as temporary buoys, especially where it is particularly important to alert road users to the risk of an accident.

When to use diversion buoys of which size?

Buoys are generally between 300 and 1000 mm in size. The smallest models, i.e. those without a 300 mm light source, are used on construction sites and are mainly used during the day. Traffic diversion cones of 500 mm are used on public roads, except motorways. Because when working on motorways or alongside railways, 750 mm or 1000 mm traffic diversion buoys should be used.

When should permanent diversion cones be used?

Permanent diversion cones are used in areas where there is a permanent or prolonged risk of an accident. Because they are exposed to harsh weather conditions for longer periods of time, they are made of durable materials.

Why are temporary diversion buoys needed?

These types of buoys are used where safe passage is only temporarily required. Their advantage is that they are easy to move, which means they can be moved in a matter of seconds. In addition, these buoys not only have a reflective surface, but also a high-intensity light source to attract attention.

This makes them even more effective in drawing attention to danger, for example on construction sites, thus easily preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of workers and passers-by.

What weather conditions can Sirena temporary diversion buoys be used in?

Road traffic diversion cones available from the DND Telecom webshop can be used between -40 and +55 degrees Celsius. In addition, Sirena's diversion buoys are IP66 rated, which means they are resistant to dust and splashing moisture.

What are the mechanical properties of Sirena temporary booms?

The Sirena temporary bollards are made of an unbreakable polycarbonate dome and an impact-resistant PVC body. This makes them sufficiently flexible to minimise impact damage. They are also resistant to being accidentally swept away by a car or machine. They have a long lifespan thanks to the material they are made of.

What other features do Sirena bollards have?

Sirena Diversion Buoys have 40 LED light sources, which allow them to emit a flashing and continuous light. The Sirena BMX AA type baffle buoys have a rechargeable battery and charging cable that can be connected to a cigarette lighter socket.

The Sirena Diversion Buoy can be charged from both 12 and 24 V Dc. The maximum current draw is 0.7 A. When powered by battery, the buoy will provide 12 hours of operation when flashing and 8 hours of operation when continuously lit. This beacon is sufficiently stable on its feet thanks to its 990 gram weight.

In addition, it complies with the UNI EN 12352 standard for warning and safety light signals for traffic control devices. The base is equipped with 3 Neodymium magnets to guarantee a firm grip.
