What types of Two-way Radio Mounting Bracket are available and how to choose the right one for your needs?
The DND Telecom webshop has a wide range of mounting frames available. For example, the U-shaped bracket, the handheld radio car mount bracket, the classic mounting frame, the microphone fork, the mounting plate, the car dashboard bracket, the duplexer installation kit, but we also offer a suitable kit for installation in a boat or a mounting bracket for a bicycle, a motorcycle handlebar and a table mounting bracket.
As the choice is very wide, the first thing to consider is the purpose for which and where you want to mount the CB radio or transceiver. Once you have chosen the right mounting bracket or kit, make sure that it is compatible with your equipment. If you are in doubt about the correct fit of the frame to your equipment, please contact the DND Telecom webshop for help.
Is there a one size fits all or do we need to choose a separate frame for each type?
The built-in frames are always compatible with the specified transceivers. In the DND Telecom webshop, you can buy plug-in frames and brackets from ICOM, Motorola, Alan, Albrecht, Midland, Grant, Stalker, Sepura and Hypera brands. Therefore, always check which transceiver is compatible with the particular bracket or frame.
Does the installation require professional help or can the average car owner do it easily?
When installing the radio in the vehicle, be careful not to damage the wiring or other parts of the vehicle that can be hidden so that they are not hanging loose on the dashboard. Therefore, installing a transceiver mounting frame is a more complicated process than it first appears. Therefore, please seek professional help for a professional installation.
When we need help, the DND Telecom webshop undertakes the installation of the mounting frames and brackets for the radios and transceivers it sells. Contact us, with years of experience behind us, we will be happy to help you not only with the installation, but also with the selection of the right frame.
What are the most important considerations when choosing between several options?
In all cases, the most important safety factor is that the mounting frame holds your transceiver stable and secure. Also, make sure that you place the CB radio in the car, for example, in a place where it is easily accessible so that you can use it comfortably.
How easy is it to change these frames if you want to install a different type of radio later?
If you want to install your transceiver in the dashboard of your car, you should choose a frame that fits perfectly into the 1 DIN radio socket of any car. This means that you do not have to dismantle the dashboard of the vehicle. This also helps to ensure safe driving, as if you place the bracket on top of the dashboard, it may even obstruct your view.
But if it is not properly secured, it could fall off in a more awkward driving situation, which could cause injury. If you choose one of these mountable frames, there's nothing to do when you want to replace the device other than to pull it out of the frame and replace the new transceiver.
In DND Telecom Center's webshop you will find a wide range of transceiver mounting frames, depending on the brand and type. Have a look at our range!
