About two-way radio in general
Ultra short wave is the term used to describe radio waves with a frequency between 30 and 300 MHz and a wavelength between 1 and 10 m, commonly used in radar, television and of course radio.
Ultrashort waves have properties similar to light, i.e. they propagate in a straight line, can be beamed and reflected. Their propagation is limited by topography, which is why transmitting antennas are usually placed on high towers or hilltops.
USW can be used to establish links where stations have an optical line of sight to each other. USW waves and a chain of transmitting stations can thus cover incredibly long distances, even on a continental scale.
Ultrafast waves are also suitable for space communications, as satellites built by radio amateurs orbit our planet. By pointing an antenna at these satellites, amateur stations can establish a link.
Ultra-short wave amateur radio communications also use all the modes of operation that are used in short wave (RH), and a station can also have a computer as part of its equipment. On USW, the size of the antennas is smaller, but the use of multiple element directional antennas is much more important.
Types of ultrashort wave
URH covers a very wide frequency range, with different parts of the spectrum allocated to different tasks and functions. Some of these are internationally common, while others are used at the discretion of individual countries. In our profession two-way radio range, we distinguish between VHF and UHF band devices.

Analogue and digital two-way transceiver radios
While in the past only analogue transceiver radios were available, in recent years digital models have become increasingly common. It is important to note that the different brands of digital radios are not necessarily compatible with each other, unlike analogue two-way radios. It is therefore advisable to consult a professional before buying to choose the right one. For simple voice communication, an analogue set may be sufficient, but for GPS use or text messaging, digital products are the best bet.

Motorola
The American company Motorola is probably well known as one of the most popular manufacturers of mobile phones at the time of their introduction in the early 2000s. Motorola has been a pioneer in telecommunications and radio technology since its founding in 1928. In 1940, for example, it launched the world's first walkie-talkie. Today, the company has more than 50,000 employees on all five continents.
