Worldwide communication via the D-STAR network
The ID-52E is a VHF/UHF dual-band radio with D-STAR and FM dual-mode functions. The ID-52E supports conventional FM communications as well as D-STAR simplex, repeater, regional and worldwide calls via the D-STAR Internet gateway. With the ID-52E you can call your friend in another city or even internationally via D-STAR repeaters with digital clear voice. In addition, ID-52E can send digital voice with data, text messages, GPS location information and pictures.

Image sharing functions
Share your pictures with other users and view the resulting images on the colour display. Images taken with Android devices can be wirelessly transferred to the ID-52E via Bluetooth

DR (D-STAR Repeater) function
The enhanced DR (D-STAR Repeater) function makes it easy to use D-STAR and FM repeater communication. Combined with the GPS function, you can select an available local repeater based on your location with a few button presses. In addition, the DR mode supports reflector interconnection controls.

Terminal mode and access point mode
Connect the ID-52E to the Internet via Windows PC or Android device. Internet gateway (using Terminal Mode and Access Point Mode) allows you to access the D-STAR repeater network even from areas where the D-STAR repeater is not directly accessible via radio.

2.3" large colour display
The ID-52E features a 2.3" colour display (320 × 280 pixels) for excellent visibility. The background colour of the display can be selected from black and white.

Bluetooth compatible features
The optional VS-3 Bluetooth headset allows hands-free wireless operation. In addition to the PTT and volume up/down buttons, the VS-3 has three programmable buttons to which functions can be assigned to improve operation. Connect to a smart device via Bluetooth. The Remote Control Software, RS-MS1A for Android device or RS-MS1I for iOS device can wirelessly control the ID-52E to adjust operating frequencies and other settings.

Waterfall display
The waterfall display shows not only the presence of signals, but also changes in signal level in chronological order. It gives a detailed overview of the band conditions, including busy frequencies currently in use or unused open frequencies. The bandwidth mode is selectable from the middle mode, fixed mode and fixed scroll mode.

V/V, U/U, V/U Dualwatch with DV/DV mode
The Dualwatch function monitors VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF and VHF/UHF bands simultaneously*. Quickly answer calls from the main and subband. Two DV signals can be decoded simultaneously.

VHF/UHF airband and FM broadcasting receiver
The reception of the airband is extended from VHF to UHF military airband (225-374.995 MHz). FM broadcasting stations can be listened to while using the dualwatch function.

Integrated GPS/GLONASS receiver
D-PRS mode is supported by an internal GPS receiver that sends your position and shows the location, distance and bearing of the received station from your current location. In addition to your location, the ID-52E displays the current grid square data. The GPS position data can be used for automatic position response, nearby repeat search and GPS log functions.

microSD card slot
Can store QSO recordings, TX voice memory, images, QSOs and GPS log data. Firmware updates, repeater lists and other personal settings can be stored on a microSD card (up to 32 GB). This can be uploaded to the ID-52E radio.

IPX7 waterproof and rugged construction
IPX7 waterproofing and professional construction make the ID-52E ideal for use in harsh outdoor environments.
